Richard Linklater's film Waking Life is all about dreaming, and how we can sometimes lucidly control our dreams. Waking Life is a must see movie. Though at some times you may feel like it's too much to handle in one movie, there are so many different, exciting, existential ideas brought up. If you have the chance to watch it multiple times, i would suggest doing so, because if you only watch it once, there is a lot you can miss. Many of the characters in the movie are actually playing themselves as they explain certain buddhists, existentialists, or situationists ideas. Overall, this movie poses the question of, how can we lead a life that is more awake, more aware of people and things, more authentic? |
