This movie could have been better. The story is good, but could have been developed so much more. I'm sure kids will enjoy it, but it's weak. The movie stars Mary-Louise Parker as a single mom moving to an old house in the country where her aunt lived before she went crazy. She brings her twin sons Jared and Simon, and her daughter Mallory. Once there her sons learn the mystery behind the house and the Spiderwick Chronicles. There is a hidden world outside the house filled with faeries, goblins, and other creatures that Arthur Spiderwick had chronicled. Once the bad creatures find out the kids have the book they will stop at nothing to get it. This movie started out good, but the story lacked something. It was shallow and could have been much more interesting. Ok for the kids, but there are much better movies out there.
