This movie is about the Louisiana bayou and the secrets it holds, of the living and dead. It stars Tommy Lee Jones as detective Dave Robicheaux. In this movie a young prostitute is killed and Robicheaux is determined to solve the case. Along with the remains of a body is chains is found in the swamp by an alcoholic young actor on location filming a movie. Robicheaux is connected to this because he remembers seeing this man killed in the 60's. These two story lines intertwine and some people try to keep him out of it. I thought this was a fairly good movie. It has an interesting story line and a creepy feel sometimes. You're not exactly sure what's going to happen and who is behind it all. It's well done in that I couldn't guess who had done it until the very end. Also starring in this movie are Mary Steenburgen as Robicheaux's wife, and John Goodman as Baby Feet Balboni. Balboni is a local rich guy who is always behind bad things. Peter Sarsgaard has a good role playing Elrod Sykes, the alcoholic movie star whose girlfriend is always coming to Robicheaux for help with him. I found the characters interesting, and overall this was a unique movie to watch. |
