Panic Room staring Jodie Foster, is a action packed suspense thriller, that has an ending that will make you cheer. I saw this movie on the second day of its release and was surprised to see so many people in the theater for the Saturday matinee, especially on as nice of a day as it was.
The movie is about a soon to be divorced mother and her daughter that move into this great townhouse in Manhattan. The Townhouse was formally owned by a paranoid rich guy who added some extra features to the house to make it more secure. One of the extra features is a panic room. A Panic room is a place where you can go incase someone breaks into your house. The room is totally secure surrounded in concrete and iron. They are made so that no one will ever be aloud in unless you want them to come in.
Here is the problem 3 guys break into the townhouse looking for the missing money of that belonged to the dead rich guy. They didn't know that the house had 2 people in it until it was to late. With some quick thinking the mother and daughter end up in the panic room. They should be all safe now right? Wrong the stuff that the thiefs are looking for is in the panic room and they will do anything they can to get in to it.
The movie was pretty good, slow at times but picked up at the end. There is one scene in particular that is pretty good, and is worth mentioning. The 3 bad guys decided to draw them out by tainting there air supply, so that take a propane tank and feed the gas into the room. I won't tell you what happened, but lets just say it was a pretty big bang, with lots of cool special effects.
All and all the movie was very good, and it kept you entertained until the very end, I only have one problem with the movie is that it should be about 5 minutes longer. They do a good job with the development of characters but they don't say what happens to them in the end. I give it a 9 out of 10 and I recommend that you see it while it is in theaters. I don't think it will be the same at home in the living room. The best part of seeing it at the theater was hearing and seeing everyones reactions for parts of the movie. |
