All I can say is...Larry Miller, villain? In a serious role? No...that's just rather ridiculous to imagine, isn't it. Yeah, well, you might want to give this movie a pass if you shudder at the thought.
Alex and her younger sister Sandra lost their mother at a young age, and have grown up with no one but each other to depend on. A psychotic circus clown, who raped and murdered their mother years ago, has suddenly resurfaced in their town, and begins stalking Alex, first in her nightmares, then in her realities.
Oooooooooooh. Spooky. If it just wasn't Larry Miller!
I'm not dogging his talent as a comedian. I think he's quite funny in the right roles. This role, however, is more fitting for someone that can be taken seriously as a bloodlusting, extremely violent, pedophile wacko with balloons and face paint. Tim Curry, now THAT was a scary clown. Can you see Larry Miller as Pennywise? Think in those lines, laugh to yourself, and you have an idea of this movie. Bobbie Phillips and Shawnee Smith are decent in their roles, if you ignore the drastic measures that Phillips goes to to, well, act, but hey, she does try.
For the morbid curiosity fans, you'll probably watch this to the end just to see how bad it really gets. You want a scary clown flick, check out It or Clownhouse, and keep walking if you see this one up for rent.
